Terms of service

The short version

You get a fixed price and a date in writing before I start. You pay part up front and the rest when it is live. When it is paid, you own it. Either of us can walk away, and if we do, you keep what has been paid for.

Who this is between

Ron Lenser Digital, operated by Ron Lenser in Fredericksburg, Virginia, and you, the person or business hiring me. Using this website, sending the form, or accepting a quote means you are fine with these terms.

Quotes and scope

Every project gets a written quote listing what is included, the price, and the delivery date. The price does not move because something took me longer than I expected. If you ask for something outside the written scope, I will tell you what it costs before I do it, and you decide.

Payment

Typically half up front to book the build and half when it goes live, unless your quote says otherwise. Ongoing services, if you choose any, are billed monthly and can be cancelled any time. You keep everything I built even if you cancel.

Ownership

Once the final invoice is paid, the code, the design, the content I wrote, the repository, the domain, and the hosting account are yours in your name. Before final payment, they are mine. I may show the finished work in my portfolio unless you ask me not to.

Open source tools and third party services inside the build stay under their own licences. Stock assets, fonts, and images you supply are your responsibility to have rights to.

Your part

You give me the content, access, and answers I need in a reasonable time. If the project stalls for more than thirty days waiting on you, I may pause it and put the remaining work on a new date when you are ready.

Cancelling

Either side can end a project in writing. You keep everything that has been paid for and delivered. Deposits cover work already done and are not refunded once the build has started.

Warranty and fixes

If something I built does not work the way the quote said it would, I fix it. Small tweaks are usually free in the first month. After that you can pay per change or keep me on retainer. I am not responsible for changes made by you or a third party after handoff, or for third party services going down.

Limits

I build in good faith and test what I ship. I do not guarantee a specific number of leads, sales, or search rankings, because nobody honest can. My total liability on any project is capped at the amount you paid me for it.

Everything on ronlenserdigital.com is mine unless marked otherwise. Do not copy it. The site is provided as is and may change without notice.

Law

These terms follow the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia. If we ever disagree, the first step is a phone call. Most things get sorted there.
